Social Media exposure can play a huge role in supporting a cause. Jennifer Knight used social media as part of her marketing plan for her son’s haunted house and coat drive this fall, and the results were fabulous. The project – Coats from the Crypt – was posted on her Twitter, Facebook, and Nextdoor Neighbor accounts. (Below are screen shots from some of those postings.) She also promoted within the neighborhood and schools.
The event was amazing – around 4-500 people showed up for this free Haunted House, and more than 100 coats were collected and then donated. Coats from the Crypt won a national community service grant earlier in the year to help fund the event.

Jennifer likes to think her promotion and contact to the Omaha World Herald of the event in 2017 helped pave the way for the successful Coat Drive in 2018. The OWH wrote an article which was then used as substance in the grant application.

OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIENCE: As a creative person, Jennifer has had an Etsy account with her daughter and she has posted many family videos over the years on Youtube; here is one video of the Haunted House from 2017. Jennifer is adept with Facebook, Pinterest, and Houzz, and Twitter and Snapchat as well.
